I am also an assistant director & coach of the Ward Youth Travel League located in the northern Metro Detroit suburbs. I am a dedicated user of AMF bowling equipment and have been all my life (As if you couldn't tell from my ID). I guess you could almost think of me as a Dick Weber wannabe. Dick used AMF for over 50 years. My current AMF equipment lineup is: Terminal Velocity, Venom, Radar Alert, and a Boogie for spares.

    I'm Not Dead!

I haven't updated my blog here in a long while. Mainly it was because of my disappointment at the bowling lanes. Up until four weeks ago, I kept feeling like I wasn't throwing the ball real well. I was struggling and I just didn't feel like writing about it. I did keep trying new ideas trying new things to turn my game around. Fortunately for me, I finally discovered what my problem was. I finally realized that I was getting too low to the foul line and I was losing all of the leverage I needed for me to properly roll that ball. However, since I worked at correcting my problem I have bowled over 700 for three of the last four weeks on Tuesday. My Tuesday team is in 1st place for the 2nd half, too. I've bowled well on Monday and Thursday as well.

I'll do better to keep in touch. I'll let you all know how Tuesday turn out for sure. Finally, a shout to Lisa. Have great trip to Albuquerque.

    Push Ups Anyone?

Wednesday, March 12, 2008, 04:39 PM EST [General]

Here's a new one, and yes, this guy is the biggest jerk in the league. Last night during the 3rd game of league, this bowler on the other team decided to do a pushup using the small gutter endcap between lanes 28 & 29 after he relased his bowling. He was being a show off because he was bowling good. A bowler on his team told him that was a foul and I immediately told him that it was a foul. His hands were definately beyond the foul line on the gutter endcap as they were one in front of the other. He shouts back that the foul light did not go off and we both said it doesn't matter. He comes back later and says there is no proof, but at least 20 other people, including the league secretary saw it. I stuck to my guns and gave gim zero for that shot. He did proceed to get the spare and did another pushup behind the foul line this time. My team won that game by over 100 pins and took 5 of 7 points. People have been complaining abouth this guy for years. I've always questioned why they keep letting him bowl in the league, but not enough captains appear to want to vote him out of the league. Maybe this will be the straw to convince them he has to go.

    Hi, Ed!

Nice to see that you sorted-out the third game blues! You now have me interested in trying-out some AMF equipment - I have been a Storm/Hammer guy for many years.

Keep on refocusing in game 3, and rock the house!
